Aims and objectives of the discipline

The purpose of this discipline is to study the mastery of test methods, operation, standardization and certification of aeronautical objects.

Objectives:

- Study of the basic concepts, procedures and participants in compulsory and voluntary product certification in Uzbekistan and abroad;

- Study of the regulatory framework for certification in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union;

- Study of the basic concepts, procedures and participants in the certification of civil aeronautical equipment;

- Study of the Aviation Regulations governing the certification procedure and airworthiness standards for various categories of aircraft;

- To develop skills in completing the working documentation for the certification process.

2.2 The main part

1- Module: Aims and purposes of product testing

1- Topic: Basic concepts in certification

Pedagogical techniques used in the module: case study method, pair work with partners, using presentations to consolidate the information that  received.

 

2- Topic: Legal framework for national certification

The pedagogical techniques used in the module include: writing out basic terms, working in pairs, using presentations to strengthen the information obtained.

 

3- Topic: Fundamentals of aircraft for test technology

The pedagogical techniques used in the module include: writing out basic terms, working in pairs, using presentations to strengthen the information learned.

 

4- Topic: Quality certification of aeronautical equipment

The pedagogical techniques used in the module include: writing out basic terms, working in pairs, using presentations to strengthen the information learned.

 

              5- Topic: Attestation of component parts

Pedagogical techniques used in the module: case study method, working in pairs, use of presentations to strengthen the information learned.

 

            6- Topic: Features of flight tests

Pedagogical techniques used in the module: case study method, paired work, use of presentations to strengthen the information learned.

 

7- Topic: Improving the effectiveness of testing in the certification of aeronautical equipment.

Pedagogical techniques used in the module: case study method, working in pairs, use of presentations to strengthen the information learned.

 

2.3 Practical work on the subject

      1. Terminology, certification rules and procedures.

      2. Complex technical systems (CTS) and their characteristics

certification.

      3. Activities of organizations in the field of certification of aeronautical equipment.

 4. Airworthiness standards.

      5. Foreign practice of airworthiness standards.

      6. Types of airworthiness certificate

      7. General principles of certification work.

      8. Development of a certification scheme for a passenger aircraft.

     

Practical work on the course is conducted once a week and takes one academic hour in a classroom where students and the instructor are present. Students are provided with slides, printed information resources related to the occupational  works, as well as a quiz at the end of the course and an end assignment to widen the material resources.

Topics for independent work:

1. Forms of product quality assurance

2. terms and definitions. Basic certification procedures

3. global certification practices. Activities of international organizations in the field of certification

4. Complex technical systems and features of their certification.

5. International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO.

6. Aviation Regulations AP-23, AP-25, AP-21, AP-29

7. Attestation and certification of component parts

 

   Independent work by undergraduate students to be submitted in the form of presentations or essays

 

3.

Students' knowledge and competence

Knowledge gained after mastering the Master's subject:

  • Study of the basic concepts, procedures and participants in compulsory and voluntary product certification in Uzbekistan and abroad;
  • Study of the regulatory framework for certification in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union;
  • Study of the basic concepts, procedures and participants in the certification of civil aeronautical equipment;
  • Study of the Aviation Regulations governing the certification procedure and airworthiness standards for various categories of aircraft;
  • Developing skills in completing work documentation

when carrying out certification.

  • seminars (tests, question-and-answer sessions);

  • brainstorming;
  • individual works;
  • presentation material, an in-depth study of the topic.

5.

Requirements for obtaining a loan:

       Full mastery of the theoretical and methodological concepts of science, ability to accurately reflect the results of analysis, independent observation of the processes under study and completion of tasks and assignments in current, intermediate control forms, final control test pass.
